The Designer.
KUKKA was designed by Maija Puoskari. She trained as a florist before becoming a ceramicist, so designing a flowerpot brought together her expertise in both passions ('kukka' means flower in Finnish). As a designer, she specializes in ceramic and glass, designing unique pieces as well as products for international brands in Europe, North American, and Japan.
KUKKA is a two-piece flowerpot which includes a generous tray to catch excess water. The tray can be emptied to avoid plant roots sitting in water.
Each pot is carefully crafted at a small Portuguese factory, which started producing pots in 1979 and is known for its technical ceramics and high level of craftsmanship.
